The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, celebrated the Cry of Independence of Mexico together with the Ambassador of the Aztec country in Caracas, Leopoldo De Gyves de la Cruz.
“I would like to bring a very special greeting from President Nicolás Maduro and, on his behalf, the words of the Venezuelans who are pleased to celebrate the Grito de Dolores, which meant the cry of independence, of freedom from Spanish colonialism,” Rodríguez said on Monday when visiting the Mexican Embassy in Venezuela, accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil.
The high-ranking State official praised Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who “has represented and represents the values of our identity as Latin Americans, he represents the highest values of Mexico. He raised the flags of independence, of unity. A true Bolivarian who respects international law.”
“Today is a day of celebration, not only for Mexico. Today is a day of celebration for the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean who raise the flags of independence, of the self-determination of peoples; the right that we as peoples have to choose our common destiny without any kind of interference,” he stressed.
