“Venezuela is willing to offer ophthalmological medical care through the Miracle Mission, for young people with eye injury or trauma after the strong repression in Chile,” announced the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, during his participation in the International Summit against Fascism for the Defense of the Truth, held in the Ayacucho room of the Miraflores Palace, in Caracas.

In this sense, the Head of State affirmed that the Chilean Military Police repressed the protests against former President Sebastián Piñera with tear gas and pepper spray, reports the AVN portal.

In this regard, the National President instructed the People’s Power Minister for Foreign Relations, Félix Plasencia, to evaluate and “carry out the necessary steps with the Chilean government to assist the affected youth,” reports the presidential press.

According to reports from the National Institute of Human Rights (INDH) of Chile, more than 405 victims have an injury or trauma, while another 33 people had an explosion or loss of the organ.
