Venezuela will send SAR teams to Türkiye to support rescues

Venezuela will send a team from the Air Search and Rescue Service (SAR) to Türkiye to support the search and rescue of people injured by the landslides that occurred after the earthquake of magnitude 7.8 registered this Monday.

The information was released by the Venezuelan Embassy in Türkiye, through its account on the social network Twitter, in which it specified that Ambassador José Bracho held a meeting with Ambassador Sevki Mutevellioğlu, at the Response Coordination Center for Emergencies, to coordinate help.

“Ambassador José Bracho held a meeting at the ‘Disaster Coordination Center’ -Emergency Response Coordination Center- with Ambassador Sevki Mutevellioğlu to coordinate the reception of SAR equipment that the Government of Venezuela will send to the areas affected by the earthquakes in Türkiye” , published the Embassy of Venezuela.

Meeting with the Syrian Ambassador

Volunteers and international support

The Turkish government has activated an operation with more than 1,000 volunteers and has been receiving support from international organizations and various countries.

Governments such as those of Venezuela, Cuba, Mexico, Brazil, Germany, Russia and China, including the United States, promised to send humanitarian aid, including technical and human teams for disaster management, to both nations.
