He stressed that unlike the Organization of American States (OAS), which has become biased, politicized and discredited, the nature of CELAC is inclusive and “we are united by the need to address the issues that affect the region, transcending the discursive.”

The Venezuelan dignitary announced his arrival in Argentina on the social network Twitter, assuring that he is coming to represent the Bolivarian Homeland and to spread the truth about Venezuela to the world.

Faría will participate in the Dialogue of Foreign Ministers and High Authorities of ECLAC, as well as in the Consideration and approval of the resolutions of the 39th period of sessions of ECLAC and the XXIII Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the regional bloc.

According to the agenda, the high-level session will address issues such as the war in Ukraine, the countries’ post-Covid recovery, inflation and the global slowdown; the regional health strategy, the fight against corruption, dialogue with non-regional partners and the integration of Latin American and Caribbean infrastructure.

CELAC is an intergovernmental mechanism for dialogue and political agreement, which arises with the commitment to advance in the gradual process of integration of the region, striking a balance between political, economic, social and cultural unity and diversity of the 600 million inhabitants. region of.

Since its official foundation in 2011, it has contributed to deepening the respectful dialogue between all the countries of the region, on issues such as social development, education, nuclear disarmament, family farming, culture, finance, energy and environment.

Currently, it is made up of Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Commonwealth of Dominica, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay and Venezuela.
