The Vice Minister for Latin America and the Caribbean of the People’s Power Ministry for Foreign Relations, Rander Peña held a meeting with the Permanent Secretary of the Latin American and Caribbean Economic System (SELA), Walter Clarems Endara in order to refine details on the Latin American Council of the SELA.
during this meeting both parties They discussed the work agenda that is about to be completed in a few days when the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela hosts the Ordinary Meeting of the Latin American Council of SELA, on November 29 and 30.
Vice Minister Peña stressed that this space is “important for the exchange of experiences between different countries,” and added that these new times “require much more innovative, resilient ideas after undesirable situations that humanity has gone through,” Peña asserted.
Likewise, he pointed out that it will be an ambitious work agenda, but that with the “efforts of all SELA member countries we will be able to comply”, concluded Rander Peña.
Strategies for Latin America
SELA is a intergovernmental body regional, created on October 17, 1975, through the Panama Agreement. It is made up of 25 countries from Latin America and the Caribbean: Argentina, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay , Peru, Dominican Republic, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay and Venezuela.
This mechanism seeks to promote a consultation and coordination system to agree on common positions and strategies in Latin America and the Caribbean, in economic matters, before countries, groups of nations, forums and international organizations and promote cooperation and integration among member nations.
