The first vice president of the National Assembly (AN), deputy Pedro Infante, reported that Venezuela will be the world epicenter of the debate and the fight against fascism, for peace and humanity, on September 10 and 11.

According to a Press release From the Legislative Branch, Infante explained that Parliament was the venue for the “Preparatory Meeting for the organization of the National Anti-Fascist Front and the creation of the Committee of Victims of Fascism,” which was attended by deputies, academics, intellectuals, community leaders, as well as representatives of social and political organizations.

This meeting was coordinated by the second vice president of the National Assembly, América Pérez; the deputy Tania Díaz, the vice minister for Latin America, Rander Peña; the director of the Institute of Diplomatic Studies “Pedro Gual”, Pedro Sassone; and the vice president of Missions and Major Missions, Erika Farías.

Infante added that a Committee of Victims of Fascism will be created, allowing the registration of those who have suffered attacks in their communities on July 28, 29 and 30, in the context of the presidential elections.

During the preparatory phase, several proposals were discussed, including the creation of a research study center on fascism, the holding of diploma courses, workshops and discussions on fascism, as well as the formation of a large movement to cultivate peace, values and respect for human rights.

A national seminar is scheduled for this Friday to “conceptualize fascism, cyberfascism and similar expressions,” as well as to learn about the experiences of the population and the state policies aimed at protecting the people from fascism.
