The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela extended its congratulations to Iran and Saudi Arabia, after the resumption of diplomatic relations, after seven years of broken relations.
In a statement – published in the website of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs –, Venezuela thanked the mediation of the government of the People’s Republic of China, for contributing to the dialogue between both nations.
The agreement was signed last Friday, after several days of talks in Beijing, China.
The talks took place between the secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, Ali Shamkhani, and his Saudi counterpart, Musaid Al Aiban, reports Telesur.
At the end of the meeting this Friday, a trilateral statement was issued, with China as guarantor, in which the commitment to reopen the embassies between both nations in the next two months was established.
