Venezuela thanks Russia for its call for dialogue and respect for sovereignty

The Chancellor of the Republic, Yván Gil, expressed on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro and the Venezuelan people his gratitude to the Russian Federation for the message of solidarity in the face of recent threats from the United States.

Gil highlighted that the Russian position reaffirms Venezuela’s inalienable right to self-determination and free and sovereign development, while underscoring the importance of preserving the Caribbean Peace Zone.

“We deeply value your call to respect dialogue and mutual respect in international relations“said the Minister of Foreign Affairs, who emphasized that Venezuela is firmly opposed to threats, militarization and unilateral measures that seek to impose themselves on the people.

A message of international support

The Venezuelan foreign minister pointed out that Russia’s statement constitutes key support at times of geopolitical aggression, when the United States has intensified its threats against Caracas.

“On behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, we express our most sincere gratitude for the message of solidarity from the Russian Federation towards the Venezuelan people,” Gil reiterated, underlining that the defense of national sovereignty is an inalienable principle.

Trump threats and aggressions in the Caribbean

Venezuela’s gratitude comes after statements by US President Donald Trump, who announced a total naval blockade against the country and stated that Venezuelan oil and resources belong to the United States.

Caracas has denounced these statements as a direct threat to its sovereignty and an attempt to justify forceful actions in international waters. In this scenario, Russia’s position reinforces the Venezuelan narrative that the international community must prioritize dialogue and reject any form of militarization in the region.
