The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, received at the Miraflores Palace the diplomat Melanie Hilton, the new Ambassador of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, who presented her credentials on Monday.
The Bolivarian government has endorsed its commitment to maintain fruitful relations between Venezuela and the Bahamas, as well as with all the Caribbean peoples, with whom it maintains close friendly and commercial relations.
Minutes later, the national president received the new ambassador of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Vantha Sengmeuang, who has just been Ambassador to the Republic of Cuba and has a 32-year diplomatic career.
The parties agreed to work to improve ways of economic complementation, strengthen relations of friendship, cooperation and solidarity.
In recent years, the Venezuelan government has increased its rapprochement with the nations of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, ASEAN, to which Laos belongs, as well as with other Southeast Asian countries.
Finally, President Maduro received Dr. Norgen Maxwell Wilson, who will be the new non-resident Ambassador of Saint Kitts and Nevis in the country.
Venezuela has reiterated its commitment to strengthen its friendly relations with the peoples of the Caribbean. Saint Kitts and Nevis maintains relations with our country through alliances such as PetroCaribe.
Also present at the event were the Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Iván Gil, the Minister of Communication and Information, Freddy Ñáñez, and the delegation that accompanied the Ambassador of the Bahamas.
