Venezuela strengthens cooperation ties with the International Organization for Migration

Venezuela estrecha lazos de cooperación con la Organización Internacional para las Migraciones

The Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and Minister for Foreign Relations, Yván Gil, arrived this Monday in Geneva, Switzerland, to participate in the sessions of the Human Rights Council (DD. HH.) of the United Nations Organization (UN). Through his account on the social network Twitter, the Venezuelan diplomat indicated that he met with the director general of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) Antonio Victorino, a dialogue that he classified as cordial.

Gil corroborated the commitment of the Bolivarian Government, of President Nicolás Maduro, to “work to strengthen our social State of law and justice, attached to the defense of the fundamental rights of Venezuelans.”

The Foreign Minister assured that he will present at the 52nd session of the UN Human Rights Council, “the truth of the country, which has tried to be subdued with sanctions that threaten good living.”

Likewise, the foreign minister and the president of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Mirjana Spoljaric, reviewed and evaluated the “matters of bilateral cooperation.”

He also said: “Pleasant meeting with the Vice Prime Minister of Vietnam HE Mr. Tran Luu Quang», where he confirmed the high level of brotherhood, solidarity and complementarity between the peoples.

The DD Council. H H. of the UN, celebrates its 52nd regular session from February 27 to April 4, in Geneva. The body is responsible for strengthening the promotion and protection of Human Rights throughout the world and addressing situations in which there may be a violation of them.
