Venezuela stands in solidarity with Cuba in the face of the ravages of Hurricane Ian

This Tuesday, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, expressed on behalf of the Venezuelan people all his solidarity with the Cuban people in the face of the blows caused in the Greater Antilles by the passage of Hurricane Ian.

In this sense, the Head of State ordered all support for the recovery process on the island. “all the support and solidarity with the people of Cuba to go and support for the ravages that the hurricane caused in its path.”

Maduro stressed that Cuba and Venezuela are united by the peoples and the future of humanity.

Recovery begins in areas affected by Ian in Cuba

Cuba mobilizes this Tuesday the solidarity of specialists and technicians from various provinces to support the recovery efforts in territories in the west of the country, affected after the passage of Hurricane Ian.

The Electric Union (UNE) reported that 48 contingents from the territories of Holguín, Granma, Camagüey, Sancti Spíritus, Ciego de Ávila, Villa Clara, Cienfuegos and Mayabeque are already moving to Pinar del Río, Artemisa, Havana and Isla de la Youth to contribute to restore the electrical service, refers Latin Press.

Around 550 people make up this support group who, according to the UNE, will do their best to not leave a single Cuban without electricity.

Reports from the center of the island, in Sancti Spíritus, confirmed the departure of a brigade of linemen, which was dismissed by the highest authorities of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) in the demarcation.

Likewise, in the eastern territory of Granma, a contingent of workers from the electric company was championed by the first secretary of the PCC, Yanaisi Capó, prior to their departure to offer their contribution.

Reports on social networks also share the solidarity sent from Cienfuegos (center), to contribute to the restoration of electricity in Pinar del Río, a province that has affected one hundred percent of that service.

On television, it was also known about the mobilization of a team of workers from Villa Clara, in the center of the national territory.

Ian has been hitting the west of the country since early Tuesday morning, with strong gusts of wind and significant accumulations of rain.
