Venezuela-Saint Vincent and the Grenadines reaffirms regional unity

As part of the process of consolidating friendship and cooperation in the Caribbean, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Venezuelan Embassy in Kingstown, Francisco Pérez Santana, held a meeting with the new Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment and Diaspora Affairs of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Dwight Fitzgerald Bramble.

The meeting took place at the headquarters of the island country’s foreign ministry and allowed for topics related to regional stability, peace in the Caribbean and the strengthening of bilateral relations to be addressed. Both authorities agreed on the need to maintain constant dialogue to advance projects of common benefit.

The agenda reviewed the most recent agreements signed between both nations, including the ALBA Agro Agreement and ALBA Azul, cooperation mechanisms that guarantee the supply of food and promote complementarity between the member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA).

Minister Bramble underlined the relevance of investment, agriculture and the blue economy for his government, committing to continue working together in these areas. For his part, Pérez Santana highlighted that Venezuelan foreign policy is governed by Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy, based on solidarity, respect for the sovereignty and self-determination of the people.

During the meeting, the Head of Mission reported on the aggressions of the United States government against Venezuela, mentioning the recent theft of an oil tanker in the Caribbean Sea, a fact publicly recognized by President Donald Trump. The Venezuelan delegation denounced these actions as part of a harassment policy that affects regional stability.

The dialogue concluded with the commitment of both governments to maintain and expand bilateral cooperation, encourage regional unity and work for the harmony and stability of the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace, reaffirming the will to strengthen integration for the benefit of their peoples.
