The People’s Power Minister for Productive Agriculture and Land, Wilmar Castro Soteldo, requested on Monday the lifting of the sanctions imposed by the North American empire and the return of the resources found in Europe.
During his participation in the 43rd Session of the Conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), he asked that they intercede for Venezuela.
“We ask this body, under the leadership of its new director, to intercede for the lifting of sanctions and the recovery of the financial resources destined for agriculture, which are currently sequestered in European Banks and amounting to an amount more than 2000 billion dollars including 37 thousand kg of gold”, he said, from the Plenary Hall of the FAO Headquarters, in Rome, Italy.
During his speech, Soteldo explained that the resources destined for agriculture should be reinstated immediately and without any restriction, as well as respecting the principle of self-determination of the sovereignty of the peoples, said a press release from the Ministry of Agriculture.
In the same way, the Minister made available the advances of the peasant scientific alliance “we make available to those peoples of the world our advances in the production of potato seeds and other tubers”.
The representative of the Venezuelan agricultural sector also stated a work meeting with the deputy minister of the Russian agricultural portfolio, Sergey Levin, to follow up on the transit agreements for three wheat and fertilizer ships from the Eurasian country.
