Covid-19 figures in Venezuela from #13Nov: 51 new cases and no deaths

Venezuela reports 963 active cases of covid-19 on the day of #5 Jan

The daily report on covid-19 indicates that eight entities in the country reported the 17 new cases of the disease on the day. The authorities count 864 people in home isolation


Vice President Delcy Rodríguez reported the detection by the health authorities of 17 new cases of covid-19 in Venezuela during the day of Thursday, January 5, 2022; infections that were reported in the national territory. Similarly, she indicated that active cases decreased to 963.

The newsletter, published in the social media by Rodríguez, indicates that in eight of the 24 federal entities of the country new patients with the disease were notified; list led by Miranda by reporting five infections in the last hours in three of its 21 municipalities: Sucre (3), Guaicaipuro (1) and Chacao (1).

The Mirandino entity was followed by Sucre (2), Yaracuy (2), Vargas (2), Mérida (2), Capital District (2), Amazonas (1) and Bolívar (1).

Meanwhile, the states of Zulia, Táchira, Trujillo, Falcón, Lara, Cojedes, Portuguesa, Barinas, Apure, Carabobo, Aragua, Guárico, Anzoátegui, Monagas, Delta Amacuro and Nueva Esparta were left out of the report for not notifying new infections.

Nor was it reported whether there were covid-19 infections in passengers coming from abroad, after the INAC eliminated the PCR test at the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía.

The official statistics regarding the day of January 5, 2023 increased the total number of covid-19 cases that Venezuela reports daily. In this sense, 1,026 days after the detection of the first infections on March 13, 2020, a total of 550,674 and 543,879 recovered patients are reported, which according to official data represents 99% of overcoming the disease.

Currently, there are 963 active cases of covid-19 in the country according to the figures released by the authorities, of which 37 are treated in the public network of hospitals; 40 in Comprehensive Diagnostic Centers (CDI), 22 in private clinics and 864 people who are in home isolation or “supervised community care”.

During the last 24 hours, Vice President Delcy Rodríguez did not report new deaths from covid-19; which indicates that the number of deaths from this disease remained stable at 5,832.
