Venezuela reports 196 coronavirus infections

The Minister of Communication, Freddy Nanez, reported that in 24 hours the country registered 196 coronavirus infections, 191 by community transmission and 5 imported.

In the daily balance offered via Twitter, he said that the community cases are located in the following states: Yaracuy 44; Zulia 41; Guarico 18; Miranda 15; Caracas 15.

According to the data, Yaracuy today presents the highest number of infections in 6 of its 14 municipalities: Independencia 22; Saint Philip 17; Coconut 2; Aristides Bastidas 1; Trinidad 1, and Sucre 1.

Regarding the 5 imported cases, Ñáñez explained that 2 come from Türkiye, 1 from Spain, 1 from Mexico and 1 from the Dominican Republic. All with entrance through La Guaira.

With the new data, the country reaches a total of 527,789 confirmed infections, 2,553 active cases and 519,497 people recovered, which represents 99% of infections.

To date there are 1,597 patients who are asymptomatic, 783 with mild acute respiratory failure, 129 with moderate acute respiratory failure and 44 in the Intensive Care Unit.

“Today we do not report deaths in our country, we maintain the figure of 5,739 in the national territory,” he concluded.
