The Capital District led the list of covid-19 infections on Saturday, September 16, 2022 with 26 of 45 in total. In the last 24 hours, two deaths were reported in Barinas from the disease, bringing the total number of deaths to 5,811
Vice President Delcy Rodríguez published via Twitter the statistics corresponding to the behavior of the new covid-19 infections in Venezuela during the day of Saturday, September 17, 2022, in which 45 new patients with the disease were registered, all of community transmission.
In this sense, the official data indicates that the cases reported in the last 24 hours were reported from nine of the 24 federal entities, with the Capital District leading the list with 26 infections in 11 of the 22 parishes that comprise it.
At the head in the Capital District are the parishes of January 23 and El Valle with four cases each; followed by Coche (3), San Juan (3), Caricuao (2), El Paraíso (2), La Pastora (2), La Vega (2), Sucre (2), San José (1) and Santa Teresa ( 1).
After the Capital District, in the list of cases for Saturday, September 17, are Yaracuy (6), Miranda (5), Vargas (3), Delta Amacuro (1), Carabobo (1), Zulia (1), Guárico (1) and Bolivar (1).
Outside the count were the states of Táchira, Mérida, Trujillo, Lara, Falcón, Portuguesa, Cojedes, Barinas, Apure, Aragua, Amazonas, Monagas, Sucre and Nueva Esparta.

The official report published by Rodríguez on the day of September 17, 2022 increases the total number of cases of the virus that Venezuela reports daily. In this sense, 916 days after the detection of the first infections on March 13, 2020, a total of 544,135 and 536,805 recovered patients are reported, which according to official data represents a 99% overcoming of the disease.
Currently there are 1,519 active cases of covid-19 in the country according to the statistics released by the authorities, of which 50 are treated in the public network of hospitals; 45 in the Comprehensive Diagnostic Centers (CDI), 51 in private clinics and 1,373 people who are in home isolation or “supervised community care”.
During the last 24 hours, Vice President Delcy Rodríguez reported the death of two people from covid-19: a 76-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman, both in the state of Barinas; which increases the total number of deaths to 5,811.
