Venezuela reported 17 new cases of covid-19 on #3Jan

The cases of covid-19 that were reported on Tuesday, January 3, were in five of the 24 entities in the country, with Anzoátegui at the forefront. There was no information on whether possible passengers infected with the virus arrived in Venezuela during the day


Vice President Delcy Rodríguez reported that 17 new covid-19 infections were detected during the day of Tuesday, January 3, 2023; detailing that all are cases reported within the national territory.

The “community” cases of the last hours were found in five of the 24 federal entities in the country, with Anzoátegui being the leader in infections by reporting six new infections in two of its 21 municipalities: Simón Bolívar (4) and Bruzual (2). .

Anzoátegui was seconded by Yaracuy (5), Barinas (3), Bolívar (2) and the Capital District (1).

On the other hand, the states of Zulia, Táchira, Mérida, Trujullo, Falcón, Mérida, Portuguesa, Cojedes, Apure, Barinas, Carabobo, Aragua, Vargas, Miranda, Guárico, Amazonas, Monagas, Delta Amacuro, Sucre and Nueva Esparta did not report new covid-19 cases.

Nor were there any reports of travelers who were able to arrive in Venezuela from abroad with possible contagion of the disease.

The official statistics published by Rodríguez in his social media Regarding the day of January 3, 2023, the total number of covid-19 cases that Venezuela reports daily increased. In this sense, 1,024 days after the detection of the first infections on March 13, 2020, a total of 550,641 and 543,632 recovered patients are reported, which according to official data represents 99% of overcoming the disease.

Currently, there are 1,177 active cases of covid-19 in the country according to the figures released by the authorities, of which 40 are treated in the public network of hospitals; 42 in Comprehensive Diagnostic Centers (CDI), 25 in private clinics and 1,070 people who are in home isolation or “supervised community care”.

During the last 24 hours, Vice President Delcy Rodríguez did not report new deaths from covid-19; which indicates that the number of deaths from this disease remained stable at 5,832.
