Venezuela rejects violent acts by Bolsonarists in Brazil

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, expressed this Sunday his categorical rejection of the violence generated by the “Bolsonaro’s neo-fascist groups” that have assaulted the democratic institutions of Brazil.

This was expressed by the Head of State through a message published on his account on the social network Twitter where he expressed his full support for his counterpart Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and to the Brazilian people “who will surely mobilize in defense of Peace and its president.”

Through a statement – published on the website of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs –, Venezuela expressed its concern about “the actions undertaken by fascist and extreme right groups, which, supported by their leaders inside and outside the country, try to ignore the result of the democratic elections last October.”

Venezuela asserted that these actions “seek to threaten the social and political peace of the brotherly Brazilian people, its government and the entire region.”

Venezuela expresses its solidarity with the Government and People of Brazil in the face of an attempt to subvert the constitutional order

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela expresses its solidarity with the people of the Federative Republic of Brazil, its President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and all its democratic institutions in the face of the attempt by violent forces to subvert the constitutional order and request an intervention military man.

We view with astonishment and concern the actions undertaken by fascist and extreme right groups, which, supported by their leaders inside and outside the country, try to ignore the result of the democratic elections last October and seek to threaten the social and political peace of the brother Brazilian people, its government and the entire region.

Venezuela trusts in the democratic conviction of the Brazilian people, who barely a week ago demonstrated in the streets their support for democracy and President Lula. Likewise, Venezuela trusts that the Brazilian Armed Forces defend their commitment to the Constitution and not lend themselves to coup adventures.

The Bolivarian Government condemns all acts of political violence and reiterates its support for the people of Brazil and its Government of Union and Reconstruction, led by President Lula.
