This Saturday, Foreign Minister Carlos Faría, through his social networks, published a statement, in which he reflects that the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela strongly rejects the decision adopted by a Judge of the Southern District of Florida of the United States of America, which ignores the diplomatic immunity of the Venezuelan Special Envoy Alex Naim Saab Morán.
Part of the letter states that “the decision of the Judge of the Southern District constitutes a frank and gross violation of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which ignores the international obligations assumed by the United States of America against Venezuela.”
It also indicates that “Venezuela denounces that the aforementioned judicial decision sets a dangerous precedent in relations between the United States, by allowing the inviolability of official correspondence to be violated.”
