Venezuela reaffirms the legitimate right of the Argentine people over the Malvinas Islands

After a publication on his digital profiles, the Chancellor of the Republic, Yván Gil, recalled that the occupation of the Malvinas is a flagrant violation of Argentine sovereignty and, in turn, highlighted that it has historically claimed its right over this territory. and the principle of self-determination of peoples is respected.

Identity and rights of the Argentine people

Since 1833, when British forces evicted the Argentines who inhabited the Malvinas Islands, an injustice has been perpetuated that ignores the identity and rights of the Argentine people, added the titillator for Diplomatic Relations of Venezuela.

On January 3, 1833, the Malvinas Islands were illegally occupied by British forces who evicted the population and the Argentine authorities legitimately established there, to replace them with British subjects.

The illegitimate occupation of the Malvinas Islands was immediately protested by the Argentine authorities of that time and was never consented to by any Argentine government.
