Venezuela participates as an observer state in the 49.ª Meeting of Chiefs of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM)where the Bolivarian Republic reaffirms its commitment to the Caribbean.
The Vice Minister for the Caribbean of the Ministry of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs, Raúl li causiheads the Venezuelan delegation, as an ambassador to the Caricom since 2013.
This forum, held in Montego Bay, under the presidency of Jamaica, brings together the main leaders of the region to address crucial issues, such as migration, transnational crime, tariffs and gaps in the economic integration of the Caribbean.
The work agenda also contemplates the situation of Haiti, climate financing, south-south cooperation, food security, digital transformation and institutional strengthening, in a regional context marked by common challenges and new opportunities.
Venezuela’s participation reaffirms its commitment to the Caribbean peoples, allows to strengthen bilateral cooperation ties with the member states of the community and remains attentive to the results of this important regional summit.
