Venezuela ratifies willingness to help Colombia without interference

The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, expressed his Government’s willingness to help Colombia in its peace process, without intervening in the internal politics of that country.

“We received at the time the request of President Gustavo Petro to help with peace in Colombia, and we are doing it, with prudence and without interference,” said the first national leader during his program. With Maduro + No. 61.

He clarified that he is still evaluating the Colombia request for Venezuela to mediate in the coup d’état that is being carried out. “At the appropriate time, we will make an official statement,” he said.

He recalled the progress that the Bolivarian Government made for peace in the New Granada nation during the government of former president Juan Manuel Santos.

However, he accused the former president of being part of a campaign against relations between the two countries.

“I regret the attitude that Juan Manuel Santos has taken once again against Venezuela, but no one is going to damage the progress that Colombia and Venezuela have achieved,” Maduro said.
