Venezuela promotes products and entrepreneurs in WIPO Assembly

During his participation in the 64th Assembly of Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) (WIPO for its acronym in English), Venezuela reinforces the protection and promotion of the country’s products and entrepreneurs.

The information was released by the ambassador and representative of Venezuela to the United Nations Organization (UN) and other international organizations in Geneva, Switzerland, Héctor Constant.

Through his account on the social network Twitter Constant, he highlighted that a high-level delegation is participating in the event, made up of the general director of the Autonomous Service of Intellectual Property (SAPI), Luis Villegas, and the president of the Venezuela Country Brand Institute, Daniela Hair.

The Venezuelan delegation has “developed an active agenda to strengthen the protection and promotion of our products and entrepreneurs,” said the Ambassador.

Tools to publicize Venezuela

On leaving the Assembly, the president of the Institute Country Brand Venezuela, Daniela Cabello, expressed her happiness “because these spaces provide us with the tools to publicize and protect our denomination of origin, how rich we are in the land of Venezuela,” she said in a video published by Ambassador Constant.

In addition, he noted that these events allow “to show the world what we are.”

Support for Entrepreneurs at WIPO

For his part, the CEO of the Autonomous Intellectual Property ServiceLuis Villegas, highlighted that at the 64th WIPO Assembly “we take all the contribution they give us for the training of officials and continue with the line of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, of continuing to support entrepreneurs and production Venezuelan national.

Previous days at the WIPO Assembly

On July 6, during the 64th WIPO Assembly, the Vice Minister for Monitoring and Control of Commerce and Distribution of the Ministry for National Commerce, Luis Antonio Villegas, highlighted the advances that have been made in the entrepreneurial sector.

“We have worked on the construction of a multicenter and multipolar system that facilitates the insertion of our entrepreneurs in different markets, encouraging the protection of innovation through legal modernization and administrative flexibility in matters of Intellectual Property,” he said. Villegas, quoted in a press release.

Similarly, he stated that the National Government is committed to protecting intellectual property, following the guidelines established in the Charter of the United Nations.

Also from Geneva, Switzerland, Country Brand Venezuela delighted numerous diplomats in an international meeting that allowed the country’s flagship products to be displayed, including music, crafts and gastronomy.

Venezuelan entrepreneurs

At the end of June, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, reported that Venezuela has more than 712,000 entrepreneurs, to promote and strengthen Engine number 18 of the Bolivarian Economic Agenda.

During that conference with the sector, the Head of State approved a decree that exempts entrepreneurs from paying fees for registering patents before the Autonomous Service of Intellectual Property (SAPI), registered and certified on the “Emprender Juntos” platform.

Specifically, more than 5,300 entrepreneurs have been assisted by the SAPI for the registration of their brands.
