This Tuesday Venezuela participates in the board meeting of the Parlatino (Latin American and Caribbean Parliament), which is held in Panama, with the aim of promoting the development of the region in terms of energy, food and economy.
The information was released by Deputy Ángel Rodríguezpresident of the Parlatino Venezuela Chapter, who through his Twitter account highlighted: “We went to Panama to participate in the Working Group of the Board of Directors of the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament.”
Venezuela raises integration
In television contact, the deputy angel rodriguezstressed that the Venezuelan delegation is present in this instance proposing the unity of the continent to face the common problem.
“As Venezuelans we come to propose the unity of the continent. We are adding wills. In the coming months, we will have a plenary session where specific problems of the continent will be discussed: energy security, food security, economic situation, migration problems that affect many countries”.
“It is an instance that is very important because it allows to suggest to the national parliaments, to the Executives, initiatives, ideas and important debates that concern the Americas and the Caribbean,” he said.
Parlatino delegations plead for unity
The different representatives of the delegations of the countries that participate in the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (Parlatino), which takes place in Panama, stressed that this is a regional body capable of defending democracy, human rights and unity.
One of the delegates said: “We are defending the union of nations to solve problems.”
Likewise, another of the representatives of the country delegations pointed out: “The integration of parliaments is key, because integration has no flag and should be the goal of all countries.”
Define schedule
The Parlatino Board of Directors meets in Panama to define the schedule of activities for this year 2023.
The meeting, headed by the president of Parlatino, Senator Silvia Giacoppo, evaluated the organization’s participation in the General Assembly to be held next May, said a message posted on Parlatino’s Twitter account.
“The Board of Directors of @Parlatino_org chaired by Senator @giacopposilvia met at the permanent headquarters in Panama to define a schedule of activities such as the General Assembly next May,” Parlatino published on Twitter.
Reincorporation of Venezuela
As will be recalled, last January of this year Venezuela reinstated with full rights to the activities of the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (Parlatino), after overcoming difficulties resulting from the sanctions imposed by the United States.
“We can proudly say that Parlatino-Venezuela resumes its dynamism and full presence in the thirteen commissions that make up the regional parliamentary body,” Rodríguez said at the time.
