Venezuela present at the 31st session of the International Bioethics Committee

The Vice President of Science, Technology, Education and Health, Gabriela Jimenezreported that Venezuela is participating this Monday in the 31st session of the International Bioethics Committee.

Through its accounts On social media, the Minister for Science and Technology also indicated that “today, Monday, September 16, 2024, with the guidance of President Nicolás Maduro, we attended the 31st session of the International Bioethics Committee, as well as the joint session of the International Bioethics Committee and the Intergovernmental Bioethics Committee (ICGB), in addition to the 13th Extraordinary Session of the World Commission on the Ethics of Scientific Knowledge and Technology (COMEST)” of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

“The ethical debate is essential to contribute to a better understanding of contemporary challenges in scientific development and its implications in different areas for the well-being of peoples,” Jiménez said.

He also commented that the debate agenda will include recommendations on: Ethics in Quantum Computing, Ethics of Synthetic Biology, Ethics on digital media and the mental well-being of children and adolescents: a perspective from Ethics and human rights.

Also for Ethics in Scientific and Technological Knowledge in Climate Engineering and Ethics of Space Exploration and Exploitation.
