Through a message on his account on the social network Twitter, the Head of State acknowledged “the valuable work of this institution, above all, in these times that demand unity for the survival of humanity”.

Recently, the organization provided support to the National Government and regional authorities to attend to the health needs of the inhabitants of Las Tejeriasin the state of Aragua, affected by a landslide caused by heavy rains last October.
Similarly, the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) carried out several discussion days with different actors in the field of health who live in Venezuela in order to prepare their Country Cooperation Strategy 2023-2025.
Anniversary OPS and Concert
This December 2, the Pan American Health Organization (OPS) celebrates 120 years of uninterrupted work for the health of the American continent, which is why in Venezuela it was celebrated with a concert by the Ayacucho orchestra and its director Elisa Vegas, at the Teresa Carreño Theater, said a note from PAHO.
Before enjoying the concert, the PAHO representative in Venezuela, Cristián Morales, highlighted the work carried out by this organization, the oldest in the world at the international level in the field of public health.
He made special mention of the achievements made during 2022 in Venezuela, with support for the national vaccination campaign, the delivery of supplies and medicines to health centers in the 24 states of the country, and support for the response to the COVID-19 pandemic. covid-19, among others.
OPS since 1902
on December 2 1902, 11 countries met at the First International Sanitary Convention of the American Republics and founded the International Sanitary Office. The main objective was “to deal with the spread of yellow fever across borders at a time of rapid expansion of maritime transport,” said a note from the OPS.
