The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, led the event on Wednesday for the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People’s Resistance War against Japanese aggression and the Antifascist World War, held in the Monumental National Pantheon and Mausoleum of the Liberator in Caracas.
Rodríguez was accompanied by China’s ambassador to the country, Lan Hu; the sector vice president of political sovereignty, security and peace, Vladimir Padrino López; the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil, among other authorities and diplomatic representatives.
A floral offering was delivered to the sarcophagus that keeps the remains of the Liberator Simón Bolívar, then the act of the solemn activity by the vice president and the Chinese ambassador was signed.
The vice president said that this date “is a great celebration of the entire humanity” and recalled the sacrifice made by the Chinese people, “where 35 million people, civil and military, offered their lives in the fight against Nazifascism of the Japanese empire of that time, is a reason for recognition, celebration, commemoration.”
In addition, he highlighted the “powerful path” of China, which has an extraordinary message for humanity in favor of peace and the shared development of peoples.
On the path of cooperation, brotherhood and friendship that characterizes Venezuela and China, he said that “rests on a foolproof alliance, marks what will be future development and how we are together in the same space to defend international legality and international morality.”
Support for global governance initiative
The vice president also highlighted the support given by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, to the Global governance initiative Presented by his counterpart from China, Xi Jinping, during the meeting of the Shanghai Plus Cooperation Organization (OCS+) held in the city of Tianjin.
He affirmed that it is “a governance that seeks to rebuild the basis itself to truly guarantee international peace and stability, based on primacy and respect for international law, in the recognition of sovereign equality of states, which seeks to rebuild true multilateralism, focused on the happiness of peoples.”
“This global governance initiative shows 80 years later than China, after extraordinary sacrifices of its people for more than 14 years of resistance to fascism, Nazism, remember that Japan then was part of the neo -fascism axis with Germany, Italy, and became the occupation of our Chinese sister in a large factory of death, torture, of the worst that there is a record,” The hatred that fascism promotes can never be imposed again.
He added that true multilateralism is built in the New World expressed in the BRICS, in the OCS, and that the proposal of the Chinese President establishes the equality of the states before the international law.
Russia and China raise peace and cooperation flags
He also highlighted the role that Russia and China fulfill in favor of peace and cooperation of peoples, facing neo -fascism.
“We have given recognition to the victory of the Soviet people and the Chinese people, and as today 80 years later, Russia and China are in front raising flags of peace, of cooperation, giving an extraordinary deed so that neo -fascism, neo -colonialism, neo -Nazism is never imposed, because we know the terrible hardships that can bring for the peoples,” he said.
The vice president reviewed part of the road traveled by China for years to become today “the first power in the world, the first economic power”, added to the military development and power exhibited during the commemorative parade made in that nation.
Treasure peace
For his part, the Chinese Ambassador accredited in the country highlighted the importance of this date to remember the sacrifices made, connect with peace -love forces in the world and honor the fallen heroes.
He emphasized that no hatred is not sought to extend, but that peace can be treasured and jointly build a better world, more prosperous, for peoples.
