The Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Yván Gil, participated this Friday in a virtual meeting of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac) with the aim of continuing to strengthen diplomatic relations.
“We have participated in a virtual meeting of Celac foreign ministers to continue deepening relations between our sister nations. Venezuela is present with Bolivarian peace diplomacy, ”the official said on his Twitter account.
Gil shared photographs of the virtual meeting between the foreign ministers without detailing what was discussed.
At the end of June, ministers and senior representatives of Celac in the areas of science, technology and innovation met in Caracas, in a meeting in which they reached “important contributions”, according to the Venezuelan Ministry of Science, which did not offer details of what was agreed during the appointment that lasted two days.
He indicated that the officials “worked together to strengthen regional integration and cooperation” in the areas of food sustainability, communicable and non-communicable diseases, space capabilities, mitigation and adaptation to the climate crisis, digital transformation and artificial intelligence, among others.
The Venezuelan Minister of Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, assured, in statements to the press, that it will be at the meeting of Celac heads of state, in January 2025, when the lines agreed at these work tables will be presented, as well as as the “fundamentals” of the proposal made by President Nicolás Maduro to create a Latin American center for scientific research.
