Venezuela mourns the death of former president of Suriname Desi Delano Bouters

Venezuela rejects Josep Borrell's interventionist statements

For the National Government, its significant contributions to Latin American and Caribbean unity are part of its legacy to the region.

Venezuela, through a statement, regrets the death of the former president of Suriname Desi Delano Bouters.

This was announced by Foreign Minister Yván Gil, through his account on the social network Instagram, in which he published the document.

In the text, the National Government states that “former President Bouterse was a man deeply admired by Commander Hugo Chávez, who recognized in him a brave leader committed to the sovereignty and development of his people.”

Likewise, the text highlights its vision of justice and self-determination to consolidate a “relationship of brotherhood and cooperation with Venezuela, reflected in initiatives such as the strengthening of energy and cultural exchange.”

For Venezuela, the legacy of Desi Delano Bouters includes significant contributions to Latin American and Canbean unity, highlighting his role in the founding of CELAC and his contribution to the consolidation of UNASUR.
