The Bolivarian Government of Venezuela conveyed its condolences to the Catholic Church for the sensitive death of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, this Friday, at 95 years of age.
“We send a prayer for his eternal rest”, reads part of the text of the statement released by the Chancellor of the Republic, Carlos Faría, on the social network Twitter.
«In the face of such a sensitive loss. Venezuela raises prayers for the eternal rest of her soul and conveys its heartfelt condolences to the Catholic parishioners,” the document states.

“The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, joins the mourning that seizes the Catholic Church for the sensitive death of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, which occurred in the city of Rome, on December 31, 2022.
The Bolivarian Government exalts his work as a prominent intellectual and theologian, his leadership as Head of State of the Holy See and as a leader of the Christian faith during his Magisterium, particularly as a promoter of interreligious dialogue and defender of human dignity, of the humblest classes and disadvantaged and the construction of a more equitable and just world.
Faced with such a sensitive loss, Venezuela raises prayers for the eternal rest of his soul and conveys its heartfelt condolences to the Catholic parishioners.
