Diplomatic authorities of the Türkiye Government in Venezuela carried out various protocol and cultural activities to celebrate the 101st anniversary of the Foundation of the Republic, an event recorded on October 29 in 1923.
For Turkish history, this date symbolizes the transition to a modern and sovereign State under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

“We salute those who have been our brothers through thick and thin. We must remember that in 2017, when the so-called sanctions intensified, Türkiye was the first country to break the blockade of food, goods, and services (…) and in Venezuela we began to get to know Turkish products (…). It can be said that one of the few positive consequences of the sanctions is that they allowed us to build a true relationship, of friendship, of brotherhood, with Turkish companies, with the Turkish people, with the Turkish Government.”
He recalled that at that time they also began flight frequencies with the Turkish Airlines airline and that it now offers eight flights between Eurasia and the Caribbean, as well as student scholarships and the exchange of Venezuelan products to the Eurasian nation. “A country that is 10,000 kilometers away, it is impressive how much brotherhood it can give. Progress has been made in projects that have allowed us to have a comprehensive and exemplary relationship. We are brothers in the respect and trust that we have built between peoples and both governments (…) more than 150 of our students are in Türkiye strengthening knowledge in various areas.”
He indicated that being in this space where we share with the Turkish community is proof that “we are brother people, friends, people who work together, people who do not betray each other, people who trust each other and who will continue to advance through the path of mutual prosperity of affection and love.”
The also Minister of Foreign Affairs, during his message stated that “Venezuela is the most reliable partner that Türkiye has in Latin America. We are going to continue being that way, we are going to work harder than our presidents have instructed us, to reach three billion exchange and commerce in 2025.”
Rejection.
On behalf of the Government of President Nicolás Maduro, the message of rejection of the most recent terrorist attack that Türkiye was subjected to is raised, which left five people dead and at least 22 injured.
“Venezuela always twinned and supportive, always with its Bolivarian Peace Diplomacy, in favor of just causes, of peace; in favor of prosperity, tranquility. They will always find in Venezuela an ally in all conditions,” said Gil.\
Complete and immediate.
Türkiye’s ambassador to Venezuela, Naci Aydan Karamanoglu, called for the complete and immediate lifting of the sanctions imposed by the United States against Venezuela. He explained that at the recent Türkiye 2024 Expoferia, the businessmen of the Eurasian country understood the difficulties generated by the coercive measures that affect the business sector and the Venezuelan people.
“We believe that any attempt to punish the Venezuelan people will pave the way for greater instability, thus constituting a step in the wrong direction.” He reiterated his country’s maximum commitment to the future of Venezuela, which will continue through cooperation with all relevant actors to support the stability and prosperity of the Caribbean nation.
Likewise, he announced that a new Istanbul – Lima route will be opened through the Turkish airline, with a stopover in Caracas, which will provide 11 weekly flights.

In 2025 we will celebrate 75 years of our relations and this 2024, in the month of May, in high-level meetings, the signing of 10 new agreements and projects was consolidated.”
He highlighted that through the Turkish Government, Caracas has three Maarif schools, attached to the Venezuelan Ministry of Education, where languages such as Turkish, English, French, subjects from the educational curriculum are taught, in addition to science, chemistry and robotics laboratories for 750 students.
“Another achievement is that 150 Venezuelan students were awarded scholarships to pursue undergraduate and graduate studies in my country (…). The best news that we also share is that this 2024 the doors of the Yunus Emre Cultural Center were opened, promoting the Turkish language, culture and history (…) so if you want to learn to speak Turkish, you have no excuses, next year I will give my speech in Turkish,” Gil said.
