The challenges that Venezuela faces as a result of the cyber attacks that have worsened in recent times, within the framework of current geopolitics, were the topics that were addressed at the conference “Venezuela Archive – Cyber War, Post-Truth and a Failed Attempt to color revolution”, held at the Venezuelan embassy in France and which was attended by journalist and analyst Diego Serquera.
This is reported by the Instagram account of the diplomatic headquarters in the French country, noting that the activity was framed by “the continuous effort of the Diplomatic Mission to promote a space for critical and academic reflection on the situation in Venezuela and the challenges it faces in the field of communication and modern geopolitics.”
The event took place last Friday and was well attended.
It is worth remembering that President Nicolás Maduro has reported that there has been a significant increase in cyber attacks directed against the country, perpetrated through bot farms located in Argentina, Spain and Mexico.
Such cyber operations are part of a strategy to destabilize the country and undermine confidence in government institutions, the Head of State has specified.
On July 28, the date of the presidential elections, government portals, as well as the National Electoral Council (CNE), were the target of thousands of attacks per minute, according to experts in the field.
