The Venezuelan Foundation for Seismological Research (funvisis) presented this Wednesday in Vienna, Austria, conferences with content dedicated to training in the face of climate change, global warming, earthquakes and tsunamis in the Caribbean. Presentations made before the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) panel.
The information was released by the Venezuelan Embassy in Austria, through its account on the social network Twitter, in which it details that the director of Funvisis, Ana María Pérez Zeledón, was in charge of the conference “Training Program for analysts to strengthen the NDC Venezuela” (Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC).
It should be remembered that the Nationally Determined Contributions are the commitments assumed by the countries that are part of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and that they must carry out to intensify their actions against climate change.

In this sense, in its intervention Funvisis demonstrated “the efficiency of the new training processes for analysts of the Venezuelan Seismological Service.”

The purpose of the presentations by the Venezuelan delegation is to demonstrate the efficiency of the new training processes for analysts from the Venezuelan Seismological Service and the methods applied in situations of a climatological nature.
In this sense, the Venezuelan delegation shares its knowledge and experiences on the contribution of Funvisis to the international surveillance system of the CTBTO.
“The participation of the Funvisis delegation in this panel will be essential to exchange experiences and knowledge in the scientific-technological field,” said the Embassy.
