The Venezuelan ambassador to Kenya, Moravia Peralta Hernández, met with the general director of the United Nations Office in Nairobi (UNON, acronym in English), Zainab Hawa Bangura, to whom she delivered a letter where she exposes the systematic and illegal harassment of the United States of America (USA) against the National Government.
On behalf of President Nicolás Maduro, of the Venezuelan Government, the Chief of Mission expressed her deep concern about the recent escalation of aggressions that the US government has unleashed against their country, which have been systematically since the illegal application of unilateral coercive measures in recent years, campaigns of discredit and contempt for the legitimately established institutions, until the current military display in the mar Caribbean
The aforementioned letter asserts that “the deployment of eight destroyers, a launching cruise and a fast attack nuclear submarine has generated special alarm, since it is the first time in the history of Latin America and the Caribbean that weapons with nuclear capacity in the region are introduced.”
“This action openly violates the Tlatelolco Treaty, an instrument that established the denuclearization of the region and also links the United States under protocols I and II. They also constitute a flagrant violation of the United Nations Charter, specifically of articles 2.1, 2.3, 2.4 and 2.7, and the ignorance of the 2014 proclamation of the community of Latin American and Caribbean states (CELAC) The region as a peace zone ”, is argued in the letter.
At the meeting, Ambassador Peralta Hernández stressed that the US government is shielded in false intrigues and assertions, which have been categorically refuted by repeated technical reports of the United Nations Office against Drugs and Crime (UNODC), including the most recent World Drug Report on 2025, which clearly shows that the Venezuelan territory is free of illegal crops.
The letter delivered by the diplomat to the highest authority of the United Nations in Nairobi, Zainab Hawa Bangura, highlights the success of Venezuelan institutions in the fight against drug trafficking, in line with national and international obligations, arguing that only in 2025, the Venezuelan authorities seized more than 52 tons of drugs, neutralizing more than 400 aircraft linked to illicit traffic linked to illicit traffic and dismantled multiple money laundering networks within the national territory.
Finally, the diplomatic official called for all peace -love nations to reinforce the joint work with the UNON and join the Venezuelan people to reject this new threat to the stability of the region.
