The Minister for Foreign Relations, Yván Gil, expressed on Saturday the solidarity of Venezuela with Cuba Given the measures announced by the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, against that country.
“Venezuela is solidarity with Cuba before the sick obsession that from the US Department of State is thrown against it. Reinstating the so -called ‘restricted list’ is an act of useless revenge against a people that have demonstrated, again and again, that it does not bend before blackmail or pressure, ”said the chancellor in his Telegram channel.
Gil recalled that for more than six decades he has tried everything against Cuba, including blocking, sanctions, aggressions, sabotage and even terrorism. “Nothing has served them. Cuba is still standing, resisting and defeating, ”he emphasized.
In addition, he reiterated that this hatred is not only against Cuba, but that “it is against the example that represents: a sovereign country that, despite all the adversities imposed, has been erected as a world reference of dignity, capable of sending doctors in time of soldiers and that demonstrates that sovereignty is not negotiated. ”
The minister added that if the aggressions grow against that Caribbean nation, the peoples of America will not remain “with crossed arms” and said that solidarity with Cuba is not an option, but “an unwavering commitment.”
Gil’s message is accompanied with an image of a publication by the Foreign Minister of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, in his account of the social network X in which he rejected the announcement of the Secretary of State and said that they are “deceitful pretexts” that have as its purpose “Justify the unjustifiable.”
The US official announced on Friday the restoration of the restricted list of Cuba, which prohibits certain financial transactions with state companies of the island and deny them resources.
