The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela expresses its absolute solidarity with the brother people and Government of the Republic of Cuba, after the two strong earthquakes registered today in its territory, with magnitudes of 6.0 and 6.8, which have shook the entire island and generated moments of anguish in the population.
The information was disseminated by the Chancellor of the Republic, Yván Gil, through an Official Statement posted on his account on the social network Telegram.
In the letter, Venezuela and its people reaffirm their admiration and firm will for unconditional support and place themselves once again at the service of the brother people of Cuba to provide any necessary assistance.

the entire island and generating moments of anguish in the population.
In these moments of adversity, Venezuela and its people reaffirm their admiration and firm will for unconditional support and are once again at the service of the brother people of Cuba to provide any necessary assistance.
The Bolivarian Government remains attentive to the cooperation plans that Cuba determines to organize aid and reiterates its willingness to provide all the solidarity support of our nation in this difficult situation.

Two earthquakes of great intensity (6 and 6.7 on the Richter scale) affected eastern Cuba this Sundayfollowed by several aftershocks, the National Center for Seismological Research reported today.
According to the network of stations of the Cuban National Seismological Service, an earthquake was recorded as perceptible at 11:49 local time, at a depth of 10 kilometers (km) with a magnitude of 6.7 on the Richter scale, located at 32 kilometers southeast of Pilón, in the eastern province of Granma.
An hour earlier, that same center had reported a perceptible earthquake at 10:50 local time, at a depth of 10km and with a magnitude of 6.0 in the same town.
According to the source, the epicenter of the first of these events was located about 47 kilometers south of the Pilón municipality, and at a depth of 14.2 kilometers, detailed the director of that institution, Enrique Arango.
