According to Xinhuaciting local authorities, three farmers were killed and five others were injured in an attack carried out by criminals against a settlement of the Landless Workers Movement (MST) on Friday night.
The police stated that 10 armed men aboard five cars and two motorcycles invaded a space in the settlement and opened fire on the families who were there. This fact was denounced by one of the MST coordinators, Gilmar Mauro, as part of the existing pressure from real estate businesses within the entity against the lands destined for agrarian reform.
