The Government of Venezuela carries out an evaluation process, together with the Caribbean Community (Caricom), to promote the relaunch of Petrocaribe, as a key instance for the economic development of the region.
The information was released by Foreign Minister Yván Gil, after a meeting at the Casa Amarilla with the diplomatic representatives of the Caribbean alliance, in which proposals were also raised on the incentive of cooperation projects, through institutions such as the Dawn Bank.
They also discussed “cooperation and solidarity” between Venezuela and the Caribbean countries, on issues such as regional connectivity, energy and food security.
Petrocaribe is a regional oil acquisition agreement between Venezuela and several Caribbean countries that was founded in 2005, during the presidency of Hugo Chávez Frías. he
