The Supreme Court of Justice and the Ministry of the Interior of Venezuela evaluated the coordination of a joint effort in order to improve the justice system. This was reported this Saturday by the highest court from the country.
The president of the TSJ, Gladys Gutiérrez, and the Minister of the Interior, Remigio Ceballos, held a meeting to share the work they have been doing.
Gutiérrez indicated, according to a press release, that he is working on “various tasks” to advance in a “complete restructuring process” of the Judiciary. This with a reorganization and reinvigoration to optimize “continuously the administration of justice in the country.”
Likewise, he said that his office carries out this work in order to continue guaranteeing due process, effective judicial protection and access to prompt and effective justice. “With a penal system and a penitentiary system that work in accordance with the principles of a democratic and social state of law,” he said.
For his part, the Minister of the Interior, Remigio Ceballos, ratified his willingness to continue working together to contribute to the “strengthening of democratic institutions” and the “comprehensive protection of the people.”
Venezuela evaluates actions to improve the justice system
At the beginning of May, Ceballos held a meeting with authorities from the Scientific, Penal and Criminal Investigations Corps (Cicpc). With the purpose of a review of the strategies with this police that attends the work of the Prosecutor’s Office.
Among the topics discussed at that meeting were the training of officials in human rights and the development of a route to strengthen criminal action in the country. Although he did not offer details about it.
Ceballos, in statements to the state channel VTV, recalled that the Cicpc has an office to review the deviation in police action. And another for the disciplinary supervision of the officials, with which they hope to keep the bad practices of the agents at bay.
