The Public Ministry (MP) reported this Monday through an official statement that the fight against Structured Organized Crime Groups is a central axis of its work in defense of peace, justice and human rights.
From his official account on the social network Instagram, the MP explained that the process to dismantle the Aragua Train was carried out in two stages; The first began in 2021 and consisted of the location and detention of its leaders and members.
The Second Stage began after the takeover of the Tocorón prison, carried out on September 20, 2023, and consisted of the definitive dismantling of the criminal organization and its financial muscle. In total there are 48 detained and tried for their participation in said criminal group, in addition to several of its members who died in confrontations with the security forces. Apart from the fact that a significant number of his henchmen have an arrest warrant and a red alert from Interpol.
