Venezuela conducted its speech at the meeting of the Association of Caribbean States (AEC), where it denounced and condemned the presence of United States warships (USA) in the Caribbean, which means a threat to the region.
The Deputy Minister for the Caribbean, Raúl Licausi, warned that the presence of these nuclear ships and submarines sent by the US constitutes a violation of the principles of International Law of the United Nations Charter, in addition to contradicting the proclamation of the region as a zone of peace carried out by the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the treaty of Treaty that declared it free of weapons.
He pointed out that the most serious thing is that the consequences of these actions are already being seen in “our daily life”, being demonstrated with the assault of the US marines to the Venezuelan Atune vessel named “Carmen Rosa”, on September 12 in Venezuelan exclusive economic zone.
In this regard, he added that the fishing sector suffers harassment by the US, so he emphasized that the people live under increasing tension from Trinidad and Tobago to the Bahamas and the entire Caribbean.
He stressed that this will generate an impact on tourism due to the direct consequences of the threats that are currently lived.
“Imagine the consequences they could have in our Caribbean Sea, in the peace areas, in our Latin America something happened,” he emphasized during his speech.
He also said that Venezuela is fully prepared to face such a psychological threat and in the field.
However, he noted that the Venezuelan government opts for the diplomacy of peace, so President Nicolás Maduro sent a letter to the US president, Donald Trump, urging him to preserve peace with dialogue, in addition to demanding the withdrawal of the US military vessels in the Caribbean.
At another point, the Deputy Minister, greeted the report presented by the General Secretary of the Association of Caribbean states, which highlights the 2025-2035 strategic plan, which we “fully share” in the priorities of trade, transport, sustainable tourism, food security and risk management.
Venezuela participates this week in the high -level segment of the 80th session of the United Nations Organization, which will take place in New York, United States; to discuss problems such as inequality, migration, climate change, and American warmongering in Ukraine, Palestine and the Caribbean Sea.
