Sanctions and the attempt to confiscate national assets such as citgoconstitute the maximum expression of corruption, and represent criminal actions and double standards in the fight against this scourge.
This was stated by the Delegation of Venezuela participating in the meeting of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations Organization on SDG 16 to improve governance and combat corruption.
The information was provided by the Twitter account of the Venezuelan Mission to the UN.
“Venezuelan delegation indicated that unilateral coercive measures and the attempt to confiscate national assets, such as the CITGO company, constitute the maximum expression of corruption, and represent criminal actions and double standards in the fight against this scourge,” the Mission published on the social network .
He also reported that at the meeting the country reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, multilateralism and popular organization as essential elements in the fight against corruption.
Venezuela denounces dispossession nullity
This Monday the United States, through the Office of Foreign Assets Control (Ofac), issued the general license number 42 where it “authorizes” the ex-deputies belonging to the opposition extremism to carry out transactions related to debt negotiations of the Government of Venezuela, PDVSA or any entity in which the Republic has a participation equal to or greater than 50%.
Faced with this new violation and aggression against the people of Venezuela, the Government of the Bolivarian Republic issued this Monday a statement rejecting the attempted dispossession of the Citgo company by the authorities of the United States, USA, in alliance with sectors of the opposition extremism grouped in the so-called “Unitary Platform”.
In the text, Venezuela denounces before the international community the policy of sustained aggression of the US Government, through restrictive and punitive measures, which constitute a looting of the resources of the Venezuelan people.
