Venezuela condemns the Israeli government's aggression against the Palestinian people

This Tuesday the National Government pronounced itself to condemn the aggressions of the Israeli government against Palestinian parishioners, which since last April 15 have occurred in the vicinity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Through a statement published on his Twitter account, Foreign Minister Félix Plasencia wrote “We condemn the aggression against the Palestinian People, which began on April 15 and continues in the vicinity of the Al Alqsa mosque in Occupied East Jerusalem, a sacred place and of free worship, provided for in the 1994 Treaty, which must be respected by the Government of Israel“.

In a document attached to the tweet, the Government calls on the International Community to reject the violent actions that took place in Occupied East Jerusalem.

“Venezuela calls on the international community to join the rejection of the violent actions that took place in Occupied East Jerusalem, and to urge the Tel Aviv government to respect the sacred places and the human rights to life, physical integrity, identity and beliefs“says the text.

Likewise, he says, the Government of President Nicolás Maduro reaffirms its commitment to the Palestinian Cause, reiterates its rejection of the genocidal actions of the Israeli forces and wishes to respect the full sovereignty, independence and peace of the Palestinian State.

Israeli security forces stormed the Temple Mount in East Jerusalem again on Monday, evicting scores of Palestinian worshipers to allow Jewish settlers to enter.

The tension in the area escalated since Friday after the assault by the uniformed men on the Al Aqsa Mosque.

In the action, hundreds of Palestinians were injured or detained during this raid, harshly criticized by the Arab and Muslim world.

According to the Palestinian Red Crescent medical service, in Monday’s clashes 17 people were injured and nine Palestinians were arrested by the occupying forces on the alleged crime of desecration of a holy site.
