The Deputy Minister for Africa of the Ministry of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Yuri Pimentel, visited the headquarters of the Pan -African Parliament, in South Africa, being received by Mdumiseni Ntuli, a member of this Parliament and head of the fraction of the African National Congress (ANC), with whom he discussed the possibilities of collaboration with the National Assembly of his country.
In this sense, the Venezuelan representative referred to the installation, in May 2024, of the Venezuelan-Union Parliamentary Friendship Group, which is chaired by the deputy of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Jesús Suárez Chourio, refers a press release from the Venezuelan Embassy in South Africa
In the same way, he thanked the support of the Pan -African Parliament during the last presidential elections of July 28, 2024 and extended an invitation to participate in the next legislative and regional elections to be held on May 25.
The deputy Ntuli thanked the invitation and reiterated the availability of the president of the Pan -African Parliament, Fortune Chambumbira, to participate in the international accompaniment process of these elections.
The Pan -African Parliament, based in South Africa, is the legislative body of the African Union, composed of 229 deputies from the 55 countries of the African continent.
