The ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) managed to maintain control that for 25 years has exercised over the Libertador municipality of Caracas, where the venues of the public authorities and a good part of the agencies and institutions of the State are located, when the mayor Carmen Meléndez was re -elected, said the president of the CNE, Elvis Amoroso.
With a transmission of 82.45 % of the tables, according to Latin press (PL) There was a participation of more than 44 % of active voters, which represents “six million 273 thousand 531 voters, projected to one hundred percent of the transmission,” Amoroso explained.
The president of the CNE explained that of the 335 mayors to choose, 304 charges were awarded with an irreversible tendency, which represented 90.74 % of the total, while of the two thousand 471 councilors to vote, two thousand 182 with irreversible tendency, 90.84 %, were awarded.
A total of 2806 charges, including 2471 councilors, were chosen in these votes, rejected by the highest opposition coalition -the democratic unitary platform (Pud) -, which denounces the lack of guarantee.
