Venezuela celebrates adoption of resolution against coercive measures at the UN

The Foreign Minister of the Republic, Félix Plasencia, applauded this Friday the adoption of the resolution against coercive measures in the Human Rights Council of the United Nations (UN) on the “negative repercussions of unilateral coercive measures on the enjoyment of Human rights”.

Through a post published on his Twitter account, the head of Venezuelan diplomacy explained that the resolution was approved by a large majority, with 27 votes in favor, 14 against and 6 abstentions.

“We applaud the adoption by a large majority in the UN Human Rights Council, with 27 votes in favor, of the resolution presented by the #NAM on the “Negative repercussions of unilateral coercive measures on the enjoyment of Human Rights”, Plasencia wrote on the social network.

Likewise, Plasencia reiterated that Venezuela continues to firmly reject the criminal scourge of unilateral coercive measures together with the 120 member countries of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) “and other nations of the international community that respect the principles of International Law, the Multilateralism and the UN Charter.
