Through his account on the social network Twitter, the head of Venezuelan diplomacy reported on a meeting held with the secretary general of the economic coordination mechanism, Mohamed Hamel, as part of the agenda of the organization’s VI Summit, based in Doha,Qatar.
During the meeting, Plasencia reiterated the disposition of the Bolivarian Executive “to maintain coordination with all member countries to develop and use gas resources in favor of the development of our peoples,” he asserted.
The foreign minister also held a meeting with Iran’s Oil Minister, Javad Owji, with whom he ratified the South American country’s commitment to the bilateral partnership in multiple areas, and its importance to continue defending the strategic interests of both nations.
Likewise, the minister also exchanged with the head of the Malaysian Economy portfolio, Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed, in order to set a strengthened route to advance towards a new level of cooperation.
The VI Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries aims to consider ways to improve joint cooperation, with a view to the development of the industry to serve the interests of producing and consuming nations.
The event provides members with the opportunity to discuss recent developments, trends and policies on energy in general and on gas in particular, while reaffirming their continued support for the Forum’s objectives at the highest level, the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry reported in a note of press.
Created in 2001, the body is made up of Qatar, Iran, Equatorial Guinea, Russia, Angola, Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Libya, Nigeria, Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Malaysia, the Kingdom of Norway, Peru and the United Arab Emirates. Joined.
