Venezuela appreciates “firm” support from Nicaragua in Maduro’s swearing-in

Venezuela thanks Nicaragua for condemning European Parliament interference

The Government of Venezuela thanked this Tuesday the “firm and permanent support” of the Government of Nicaragua, at the investiture of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro this Friday, January 10, in which he will be sworn in before the National Assembly (AN) for the presidential period 2025-2031.

“A few hours before the legitimate presidential swearing-in of fellow comrade Nicolás Maduro, we express our firm support; Fascism will not pass in our blessed American land,” reads a letter signed by President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo signed this January 7.

For his part, Foreign Minister Yván Gil in his digital profiles said that. “On behalf of President Nicolás Maduro and the Bolivarian people, we express our most sincere gratitude to President Daniel Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo.”

“Nicaragua, always dignified and brave, stands as a firm ally in the fight for the sovereignty and self-determination of the people,” said Gil.

Last January 5Maduro reiterated to the AN that he will attend “together with the people, to swear me in as President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.”
