Venezuela and Turkey agree to strengthen inter-parliamentary relations

The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, held a meeting this Saturday with the Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, in which they agreed to strengthen ties between the parliaments of both countries.

“We had a warm meeting with the Foreign Minister of the sister Republic of Turkey, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, with whom we agreed to further strengthen ties between our parliaments and our peoples,” he said via Twitter.

The Foreign Minister of the Republic, Félix Plasencia, and other deputies of the Venezuelan Parliament were present at the meeting.

On Friday, the III Joint Commission for Venezuela-Turkey strategic cooperation was installed at the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry, in Caracas.

Within the framework of the Turkish Foreign Minister’s visit to Venezuela, iCaracas and Ankara signed new deals linked to youth, sports, investment in small and medium industry, tourism, fishing, education and health.

The head of Turkish diplomacy highlighted that last year the volume of negotiations with Venezuela tripled; and Turkey occupies the first place in exports of the South American country.
