Venezuela and the EU discussed the pernicious effects of sanctions

The harmful impact of the illegal application of unilateral coercive measures against the people of Venezuela, and other issues related to the global challenges of multilateralism were discussed in a bilateral meeting between Foreign Minister Carlos Faría and the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Political of Security, Joseph Borrell.

At the meeting, held this Thursday in the context of the 77th Period of Sessions of the United Nations Organization (UN), the diplomats agreed to continue strengthening relations between Caracas and Brussels, within the framework of respect and peace diplomacy, reported a note Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Faría also indicated in his account on the social network Twitter that in the meeting he highlighted the achievements obtained by the Venezuelan Government, under the leadership of President Nicolás Maduro, “in favor of the economic recovery and the collective well-being of the Venezuelan people.”

Last July, the Foreign Minister Carlos Faria highlighted in a meeting with the director general for the Americas of the European External Action Service, Brian Glynn, the intention of both parties to strengthen cooperation in energy, environment and health, among other topics of interest and both ratified their commitment to deepen the binational ties between the regional blocs.

Bolivarian peace agenda continues

Continuing with Venezuela’s Bolivarian peace agenda at the UN, Foreign Minister Faría held several meetings on Thursday.

To enhance strategic relations between Venezuela and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and promote development between both nations, Faria met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi ArabiaFaisal bin Farhan Al Saud.
